How to relax under pressure

Gidday and welcome back to the next part of philosophy with Thomas.

Todays topic is how to handle pressure.

1- Patience. Never get caught up in the future, or worry too much about past events, your focus is staying present and waiting for opportunities to arise. Anticipating certain events can cause a lot of unwanted anxiety and stress in your body, that for some people leads to overthinking. A domino effect if you'd like to call it. The best way to cure this is to take things as they come, again presence, focusing on the now. In order to do this you need to be comfortable being uncomfortable. The word patience is one of my favorite mantras i like to keep in the back of mind at all times, especially in high pressure situations, works like a charm.

2- Vocal. I'm reading a book at the moment, the writer wrote it in his last year of life after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. One of his tips for a healthy life was, if you need to say something, just say it. In sports, schooling, the workforce or in drama/music, being vocal can have a major impact on a position or improvements that lets say a team needs in order to succeed or reach a certain goal, the moment you shy away from saying something that will add value to a conversation or meeting, you are automatically pulling your share from a business (in a metaphor sense), not truly getting the full personal involvement.

3- Confidence. The more you pursue something, it could be anything, through fear or anxieties you are teaching the brain its new normal is do do exactly that. So go on, prove your self wrong and start completing that work task, fitness goal or anything that's important to you, even when that word called pressure starts hunting you down, say to yourself "yeah you won't beat me this time".

I hope this has helped someone in need, or reiterated to those doing tough deeds that what your achieving is good and deserves to be recognized as no mean feat.
