The ability to see through the pain

Today I'm writing about something I'm learning with the body, mind and spirit. To get the full grasp of things I want you to imagine your life when you were just 5 years old, you could of been smart or creative or sporty, but that's not really what I want you to think about, I want you to think of your reality back then and how different it possibly is to the reality you see and feel today. Those emotions and massive learning curves and struggles, all mashed together to make your reality, for most people it may be near impossible to get back to that today in their adult years. Now again, imagine your 5 years old then in a blink of an eye everything falls down around you, the people you love are gone and your passions somewhat disappear. This is becoming fond of me today, the reality I've built my walls around is slowly breaking away and a new reality is coming at me, fast, and it doesn't look too exciting tbh. But hey that's what I'm reading about at the mo...

Taking time to relax

Welcome back. Todays entry is about putting your foot on the break everyone and awhile, especially once you get some free time. Relax, take some deep breaths, catch up on some sleep and finish watching that movie you keep thinking about at work are just some of the things you can use to recharge those imaginary batteries hooked onto your body(metaphorically). Sometimes the best thing to do when you feel over loaded is exactly that.  Now, I'm not saying make any excuse to sit on your phone and doom scroll, no w2hat I'm saying is when life gets a bit too much, take a moment or a few just to relax, having nothing to do and let your mind figure out what it wants to do instead of moving from one thing to the next which all of us go through especially during a working week. Clear your schedule, say no to that hang out that your dreading. Kick your feet up, take the dog for a walk, finish that game, it's really up to you! Just enjoy the nothingness! Thomas

How to relax under pressure

Gidday and welcome back to the next part of philosophy with Thomas. Todays topic is how to handle pressure.  1- Patience. Never get caught up in the future, or worry too much about past events, your focus is staying present and waiting for opportunities to arise. Anticipating certain events can cause a lot of unwanted anxiety and stress in your body, that for some people leads to overthinking. A domino effect if you'd like to call it. The best way to cure this is to take things as they come, again presence, focusing on the now. In order to do this you need to be comfortable being uncomfortable. The word patience is one of my favorite mantras i like to keep in the back of mind at all times, especially in high pressure situations, works like a charm. 2- Vocal. I'm reading a book at the moment, the writer wrote it in his last year of life after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. One of his tips for a healthy life was, if you need to say something, just say it. In sports, scho...

The mind, body and spirit

Something I constantly come back to each day is how i relate my mind, body and spirit together when making decisions, filling in time and communicating to people. January this year I read a book called the power of the now. I highly recommend this book to anyone that gets caught up in their mind. Presence is the main motive of the book. I was reading a chapter of this book, the author wrote something about being so present in her reality that she had the most surreal and amazing 7 months of her life before writing this book. Presence not only allows you to handle tough questions at work or school, but more so accepting times when you have thoughts you wish you didn't have or a feeling uneasy at certain times of the day.  Right now, look away from this screen that your looking at and see your surroundings, look at your hands, what your wearing. Breath deeply and be aware of the thoughts and emotions that you currently have. Being in this state throughout each day is what I'm w...

Hello and welcome

Gidday, Hello, Kia Ora. My name is Thomas. Welcome to my new blog where I'll be sharing incites to my daily work and improvements.  A little history on me, (skip this paragraph if your a little self centered and just want information for your own use, in other words...no empathy) back in 2020 I began my work in Philosophy with a paper in the subject at the University of Tampa in Florida U S A. With big dreams after acing the subject my mind began to wonder, a little too much. We all know what happened at the start of 2020, I really don't want to bring it up but it involved a lot of home time. My mind began to wonder and i became stuck on topics that weren't really real. In 2023 I met my girl friend and things started to look a lot better and I began working on myself like no other period of my life, I did a full 360 when I began to read about stoicism and how much it worked with me. Today, I'm writing from the comfort of a healthy home in a healthy body.  Religion, Emo...
