The mind, body and spirit

Something I constantly come back to each day is how i relate my mind, body and spirit together when making decisions, filling in time and communicating to people. January this year I read a book called the power of the now. I highly recommend this book to anyone that gets caught up in their mind. Presence is the main motive of the book. I was reading a chapter of this book, the author wrote something about being so present in her reality that she had the most surreal and amazing 7 months of her life before writing this book. Presence not only allows you to handle tough questions at work or school, but more so accepting times when you have thoughts you wish you didn't have or a feeling uneasy at certain times of the day.

Right now, look away from this screen that your looking at and see your surroundings, look at your hands, what your wearing. Breath deeply and be aware of the thoughts and emotions that you currently have. Being in this state throughout each day is what I'm working on at the moment. Presence is key.

By doing this more often day to day, you mind is becoming more aware that you are in total control over each move, each spoken word and each thought.

Now don't get me wrong, I believe as a fact every human being in the world either struggles to control their emotions, thought and language they use right now, or at some point in your life. The knowledge of this helps better understand that having this happen to you yesterday, today or tomorrow is perfectly normal. Anxieties and stress is usually a production of worry of factors like this. This relaisation not only stops this production of anxieties and worries, but puts you into a state where you can focus on more important factors of your life like working towards a pay increase or getting that grade your wanting to get in that paper, whatever it is, working on presence and knowing you are in control could be the first step in getting you there.

Thanks for reading!
